Interview Ready

Focused interview coaching for international landscape architects and designers, designed to help you showcase your brilliance.

Congratulations! Your expertise clearly shows up on paper because you’ve already secured the interview.

You know your skills are valuable and you deserve every opportunity to prove what you can do.

But being technically accomplished and having a strong portfolio is only part of what will ultimately land you the job.

You also need to be able to communicate well and articulate why your ideas matter. And this isn’t something you necessarily learn at undergraduate level.

Are you ready to finally sound like the designer you already are?

Despite the excitement, deep down you’re nervous your English might let you down on the day - your anxiety might be so bad that it’s even keeping you awake at night.

Interviews are designed to be challenging - we all experience them at some point. I once had to go through a three-stage interview process for a particular company. And I landed the job!

However, having worked with many designers over five years of coaching now, I know that being put on the spot can feel particularly overwhelming for people speaking English as their second language.

The frustrating thing is you know the answers to tricky questions, you just find it hard when responding in the moment. You resort to short, safe answers and sound less experienced and knowledgeable than you really are.

There are two things that pretty much all the international professionals I speak to really want to know when coping under pressure. Exactly how to:

  • organise their ideas clearly so they can remember what to say and retrieve the right information more easily;

  • manage their nerves, remain calm and retain their confidence when all the attention is on them.

Both of these goals become much easier when you understand one thing… you don’t need better English!

Imagine how different things would be for you, if you…

- walked into every interview knowing exactly how to structure your answers, instead of hoping the right words would come;

- had a simple way to buy yourself a moment to think - without ever sounding unsure;

- never froze on an unexpected question again, because you knew how to handle whatever came up;

- could explain the reasoning behind your design decisions as clearly in English as you do in your own head;

- talked about your projects strategically and conceptually - showing not just what you did, but how you think;

- stayed calm and present with all eyes on you;

- walked out knowing that, whatever the result, you'd shown them the real you.

That’s exactly why I created ‘Interview Ready’ - an intensive training opportunity for international landscape architects and designers with an interview coming up, so that you can get the support and help you need to make it happen.

Interview Ready

By the end of our time together, you’ll have:

✔ A simple framework for structuring your answers.
✔ Ready-made phrases to buy yourself thinking time.
✔ The language to convey the real value of your work.
✔ Practice handling unexpected questions.
✔ Practical ways to turn anxiety into confidence, so you can focus on getting your message across.

And my personalised support and feedback every step of the way.

What’s included:

  • Three focused 1:1 sessions (60–90 minutes), scheduled around your interview date

  • A tailored prep pack, built around your actual interview and your own portfolio

  • Your answer-structuring framework, taught from the very first session

  • Support between sessions, so you're never stuck on something alone

  • Presence and nerves preparation for in-person interviews

  • A post-interview debrief, so the experience makes you stronger for next time

  • A written take-away of your key structures and phrases to keep

So, how much is it?

  • Interview just days away, or working to a tight budget? Start here. One focused 90 minute session, a prep resource to take away, and a quick follow-up after your interview - enough to walk in clearer, calmer and more in control. (And if you decide to keep going, it counts towards the full sprint, or towards Freedom to Communicate.)

  • The complete preparation: three 90 minute sessions, your tailored prep pack, support between sessions, presence work for in-person interviews, and a debrief afterwards. The right choice when you've a week or two to prepare - and especially if your interview is face-to-face.

    An interview is the one moment standing between your talent and the role you want. It's worth making sure your English isn't the thing that holds you back - because the right job changes everything that comes after it.

I had the pleasure of working with Camilla, and I can confidently say she is an outstanding teacher and mentor. As an ESL landscape architect, I sought her guidance to improve my English communication skills, particularly in explaining my designs during interviews. Camilla’s approach is personalised, patient, and incredibly effective. She not only helped me articulate my ideas clearly but also boosted my confidence in using English professionally.

My promise to you

I can't promise you'll get the job - no one honest can, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something. What I can promise is that you'll walk in able to do yourself justice: clear about what you want to say, and confident you can handle whatever they ask.

And if, after your first session of the full sprint, you decide it isn't right for you, simply let me know and I'll refund your fee, less a £100 booking fee. You'll never be tied into something that isn't working for you.

FAQs:

  • I understand - many of the people I work with are early in their careers and watching every cost so this is a real consideration, not a small one. A few things that might help: you can start with a single session at £140 rather than the full sprint, so the first step is small; the full sprint can be split into two payments of £200; and it's worth weighing the cost against what this one interview could unlock - the right role shapes your income, your confidence and your opportunities for years, not just weeks.

  • Yes, and you're far from unusual. Most people find me with about a week to go, sometimes less, and a week is enough to make a real difference. The single intensive session is built for exactly this: you'll leave our first hour with a framework you can use straight away. Short notice isn't a problem - it's the norm.

  • This was never about your English level. If your English is good enough to do your job, it's good enough for this because the problem isn't your grammar or vocabulary, it's having a structure for your answers and the confidence to deliver them under pressure. You don't need better English. You need to know how to use the English you already have.

  • No - and I'd be wary of anyone who promised that, because so much of an interview is out of anyone's hands. What I can promise is that you'll walk in able to do yourself justice: clear, structured, and calm enough to show them the designer you really are. That's the part that has been holding you back, and that's the part we fix.

  • Then you already know that preparation alone isn't the whole answer – especially in person, where the pressure spikes and confidence can vanish even when you're ready. That's exactly what we work on: not just what to say, but how to study your nerves, hold your presence, and find your way back when you stumble. You won't have to face that part alone.

  • It's meant for exactly someone like you. The people I help are often early in the careers and far more capable than they let themselves believe – qualified, talented, and quietly underselling it in English. This isn't for the already polished; it's for the person who knows they're good and wants the interview to finally show it.

  • Then you won't be stuck. If you've booked the full sprint and the first session tells us this isn't what you need, just say so and I'll refund your fee, less a small booking fee. And if I ever feel I'm not the right person to help with your particular interview, I'll tell you honestly. You're taking far less of a risk than it might feel like.
