Plan to Pitch

Confidently Present in English and ‘Wow’ Your Audience - in 3 Steps

Time to stand tall, feel proud and know you have ‘value’ to add.

As an ESL Landscape Architect, Urban Designer or Garden Designer, you are skilled at developing solutions to problems.

However, when it’s time to explain the ideas behind your concept or describe your current role and responsibilities in an interview, do you:

  • Struggle to organise your thoughts into a clear and structured message?

  • Feel unsure about pronunciation, phrasing, or delivery?

  • Worry that your presentation isn’t engaging or persuasive enough?

With Plan to Pitch, you’ll follow a 3-step process to structure, refine, and practise your presentation in English - so you sound professional, confident, and prepared when it matters most.

A project is often like a story with a beginning, middle, and end. When we want to tell that story and convey our vision, we need to keep presentations compelling to engage our audience.

Doing this in our first language is hard enough, never mind in a second language like English. I have experienced the self-conscious anxiety and stress that comes with standing up in front of people and speaking. I, too, have forgotten my words, spoken too fast and used too many ‘ums’ and ‘ahs’. I have felt the disappointment afterwards and the fear of speaking ever again!

Memorising speeches increases anxiety and is not the answer to effective public speaking. I have seen this time and time again. The good news is that we can learn to reduce our anxiety and prepare what we need to be able to say without sounding like a robot! Plan to Pitch is the perfect starting point if you want to:

Walk into your presentation feeling fully prepared - knowing precisely what to say and how to say it.

Deliver a clear, engaging, and persuasive pitch that makes people respect and trust your expertise.

Speak confidently and naturally so people listen to you, value your ideas, and see you as an expert.

Plan to Pitch is a three-hour workshop (two 90-minute sessions)and is designed to help you:

Use structure to organise your message for maximum clarity;

Use feedback

to refine your pronunciation, delivery, and messaging;

Practise and deliver your pitch like a pro!

Ready to take your plan to the pitch stage?

This workshop is perfect for you if you know you have a forthcoming presentation or want to practise what you need to say in English with a native speaker. This is for you if you have time to plan:

Step 1: Structure

  • Learn how to structure your ideas clearly and persuasively.

  • Use signposting and linking phrases to guide your audience smoothly.

Step 2: Refine

  • Receive personalised feedback on:
    ✔ Pronunciation & intonation
    ✔ Storytelling & descriptive language
✔ Clarity, flow, and overall impact

  • Discover how to sound more polished and professional.

Then we will meet for our second 90-minute session online:

Session 2: Pitch

Step 3: Practise

  • Apply your feedback and refine your pitch.

  • Practise with live coaching to strengthen your delivery, fluency, and impact.

  • Gain the confidence to present persuasively and engage your audience.

By the end of Plan to Pitch you’ll walk away with:

✔ A clear, structured presentation that’s easy to follow and more persuasive.
✔ Better pronunciation, delivery, and expression - so you sound confident and professional.
✔ The ability to connect with your audience and communicate your expertise effortlessly.
✔ Less stress, more confidence, and a presentation that makes an impact.

When you lack confidence, you convey uncertainty, which leads stakeholders to question your solution. To be certain, having confidence is not about being arrogant, cocky, or asserting that you’re always right. It is allowing the knowledge that your skills are valuable to overflow into your tone, body language, and attitude when you talk about your work. Being confident is being proud of your work while also understanding that you’re not the only smart person in the room.
